Battery

The battery is an important element for the autonomy and the weight of the bicycle. It is for this reason that Bionx utilizes NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) and  Li-Mn (Lithium- Manganese) batteries, each offering their own strengths an advantages. The battery makes it possible to have an excellent autonomy without adding too much weight to the bicycle.

Ni-Mh Advantages:
   - Good energetic density (60-80 Wh/kg)
   - strong
   - safe
   - flexible

Li-Mn Advantages:
   - Very high energetic density (100-200 Wh/kg)
   - Much lighter than the Ni-Mh

In addition to the battery cells, the BionX battery also includes electronic compoments that allow it to communicate with the other BionX parts (motor and command console).
