The motor is integrated into the bottom bracket and drives the chain independently of the pedals. All seven gears on the rear dérailleur are available to the motor. Since the motor is mounted low and centrally in the frame, the center of gravity is optimized. Unlike hub motors, there is no additional unsprung weight on the wheels. Throttle control and pedal assist are standard. The PAS has three power level settings. The locking removable battery pack is discreetly hidden in the rear rack.
